Reconnect to Yourself.
Move Forward with Clarity.

Hello, I'm Stephen

Life coaching for people who feel stuck, disconnected, and ready for change.

I help gay men reconnect with their authentic self to create a life that is aligned and empowered. However, I welcome anyone who genuinely resonates with my approach. Together, we’ll create a space for clarity, courage, and self-trust to grow.

You might be feeling stuck in life — uncertain of who you are or where you’re headed. Maybe you’re navigating a midlife transition or simply feeling lost and disconnected from yourself.

You know you could use some encouragement and accountability, but you also need it to be gentle and supportive. You may not even be sure what you’re working toward yet — only that you can’t stay where you are.

You’re ready to find your way forward. You know it’s time for change, and you’re ready to approach it with openness. It may feel uncomfortable at times, but you won’t be doing it alone. I’ve got you—and more importantly, you’ve got you. Together we’ll create space for clarity, courage, and self-trust to grow, so you can start to move forward.

 Let’s do this.

How I Work

Wayfinder Way

I completed classes in Martha Beck Wayfinder Life Coach Training in 2025 and draw on the tools and structures from this program to help my clients find clarity and move forward with confidence. My approach is rooted in asking meaningful, compassionate questions that help clients slow down, tune in, and hear their own inner truth more clearly — especially around the places in life that feel most tangled or conflicted.

I believe you already carry the wisdom you need. My role isn’t to tell you what to do, but to support you and walk alongside you as you reconnect with your own clarity and confidence. And if you find yourself feeling stuck or going in circles, I will gently share a reflection or intuitive insight to help open up a new perspective for you.

    ABOUT ME

    Stephen Schott

I grew up in Indiana in the 90s and early 2000s in an atmosphere that wasn’t exactly friendly towards gay people. I learned to blend in and suppress myself in order to feel worthy of love and belonging. After high school I attended Indiana University and discovered the sport of ultimate frisbee. This became my main focus in life for about 15 years as I played competitively across the United States. It was my social, physical, and mental outlet. It also introduced me to people who like to live life a little more alternatively, not blending in for societal norms. After college I eventually became self-employed as a landscaper and then construction contractor, which I did for about 11 years.

I remained in the closet until 26, when I finally surrendered to the stress that was caused by hiding myself. In a way I felt like I was reborn, and simultaneously part of me felt like I had some catching up in life experiences to do.

I moved to Seattle in 2019 for a change in scenery. In 2021 I found myself in a midlife crisis, unsure of who I really was or what my purpose in life was. I was in a serious funk, unable to move forward due to what I eventually recognized as anxiety and depression. I felt like my entire life had come to a halt - I couldn’t play ultimate frisbee due to injuries; I couldn’t get myself to work consistently because I found it unfulfilling; I felt completely stuck. In addition to getting my first therapist, I began listening to podcasts and books on the topics of human behavior and mental health and I was fascinated by them. Among other things, I learned how the childhood habit of suppressing myself to feel worthy of love and belonging was still impacting me and preventing me from knowing my authentic self. I loved learning about human behaviour and after the era of my midlife crisis felt like it had ended, I continued learning about these topics and decided to pursue life coaching so I could help others through their challenging times.

I discovered Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach training and recognized that it was exactly the kind of coaching I want to do - helping people come back to themselves to know their authentic self, what they want to do in life, and how to trust themselves to make decisions. I completed the course in 2025 and came away with more strategies and tools to help support people in their circumstances. I love hearing people’s stories and witnessing them as they work through their challenges to better themselves.
